November Birthday Extravaganza

November is a busy month for birthdays in this family. My brother kicks things off with a birthday on the 11th; the newest Moreau – Henry and Julian’s first cousin – arrived on the 14th; Erin and Henry just barely missed being birthday twins with birthdays on the 18th and 19th; and my mom’s birthday falls on the last day of the month.

With a newborn in the house, we had pretty low key celebrations for Erin and Henry this year. For Erin’s birthday, we opened presents first thing in the morning (Henry was so excited for the gift he had picked out – a snowball making kit – that he couldn’t keep it a surprise) and then went out to dinner with her parents for the last time at this little Italian diner that will be closing in December.

Julian says, “I thought this was supposed to be a serious shot…”

We’re gonna miss you, Boves!

The next morning, we woke up bright and early for Henry’s presents.

Erin and I are just a wee bit excited to try out the new toys.

We played and played (and played and played and played…) with his new toys non-stop from the time he opened his presents until Grammy came to pick him up around 2. I quickly made some cupcakes and then we headed up to Erin’s parents’ house a few hours later for more birthday festivities.

Always open the card first!

Such a big boy!

Henry’s face cracks me up in this one…he’s either not too sure about his baby cousin or Michael Jackson…I’m guessing it’s MJ who’s giving him pause.

Henry’s turning three was pretty emotional for me. I kept it together the day of his birthday, but I was kind of weepy all week. Three is a big deal; it’s like he’s officially transitioned from baby to little kid. Obviously, he’ll always be our baby, but there’s no denying that he is his own little man now.
