Mothers’ Day Round 5

This year, Erin and I decided to host the Mother’s Day meal at our house. We thought it made sense for the family with two moms to head up the festivities. The bonus being we could work around the boys’ nap schedule more easily.  We were also amused by the irony of the moms working hard to put on a nice meal for everyone.

I still feel like a newbie at this whole parenting thing, which is why I’m in disbelief that today is my fifth Mother’s Day as a mom.

I never felt destined to be a mother. I didn’t grow up around babies. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve babysat a child under the age of 10. I’ve always felt slightly uncomfortable around other people’s children.

And, yet, here I am. Four and a half years of parenting under my belt and two sweet boys who have only ever known me as “mommy.”
